The Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver, in its capacity as Trademark and Patent Registrar, has issued a circular in regard to the payment of stamp duty an patent filings. According to the circular, the new guidelines target the upgrading of the offered services, the simplification of proceedings and the improvement of public convenience. According to the circular, from January 1 st, 2010, all documents regarding the Patent Department that require stamp duty, shall not be stamped by the Registrar of Stamps, but the affixing on the same of the relevant stamps, as provided by the Stamp Duty Law, and their submission to our Department shall be deemed adequate.
