On 13 September 2021, the provisions of the Social Insurance (Contributions) (Amending) Regulations of 2017 (the Provisions), entered into force by a decision of the Council of Ministers.
Henceforth all new recruitments shall only be notified online through the information system ERGANI, and as a result the previous process of ‘Certificates of Employment’ is being discontinued.
The Provisions require the employer registration application to be filed no later than one (1) day prior to the expected date of commencement. Also, each employer must notify the Social Security Services of the upcoming recruitment at least one (1) day in advance.
Further, each employer is now required to keep a recruitment record, including all necessary information of each employee, namely a Serial Number, the Recruitment Date, Name, Identity Card Number, Social Security Number and the Employment Commencement Date.
