Imminent creation of a Commercial Court and an Admiralty Court

The adoption of the bill establishing a Commercial Court and an Admiralty Court in Cyprus constitutes significant progress in the reform of the Cypriot judicial system.On the one hand, cases will be determined in a more expedient way thus relieving the Supreme Court and District Courts of heavy workload and cases relating to commercial matters. On the other hand, the establishment of these courts will attract foreign investors and foreign parties. Moreover, this article addresses the usage of English language before the Commercial Court and suggests solutions in which it could be used without being deemed unconstitutional.
