Thea Pavlou is a Junior Associate οf the Commercial Team at Harris Kyriakides. She specialises in the areas of Data Protection and Cyber Law, Regulatory and Public Procurement, Intellectual Property, Competition and Renewable energies. She regularly provides legal opinions and prepares and reviews various contracts and agreements relating to the above industries. In addition, she prepares legal documents regarding court claims and regularly appears before the District and Administrative Court of Cyprus as well as other authorities.

In June of 2019, Thea obtained the highest distinction of Summa Cum Laude and the ‘Best School of Law Graduate Award’ for her academic performance during her LLB in Law (SPA 3.936/4). In June of 2020, Thea received an excellent distinction for her performance at the Cyprus Bar Association Exams. In September of 2021, Thea received the ‘Praxandros’ scholarship at the University of Cyprus for her postgraduate studies based on her academic profile and in December of 2022, she be receiving her LLM in European Commercial Law.

She is fluent in both English and Greek.

Recent work:

  • GDPR Compliance: preparation and review of documents necessary for GDPR compliance (such as  privacy notices, data protection policy, violation of privacy policy, data processing agreements, records of processing activities etc);
  • Provided legal opinions regarding GDPR compliance;
  • Provided Privacy Policies, Cookie policies and Terms and Conditions for varius websites;
  • Provided legal opinions regarding renewable energies and gas (Changing the legislation relating to the gas industry in Cyprus, opening of the electricity market in Cyprus, selling electricity generated by photovoltaic parks in Cyprus etc);
  • Reviewed various contracts and agreements related to commercial activities;
  • Provided legal opinions to public entities related to interpretation and application of Law;
  • Prepared varius court documents and regular appearances at the District and Administrative Court;
  • Provided legal opinion on the recovery of possession of a controlled rented property;
  • Provided opinion on drafting public tenders;
  • Provided legal guidance on public procurement procedures and on tenders before the submission to the TRA;
  • Contributed in “The Legal 500 – Country Comparative Guides” by providing an overview of public procurement laws and regulations applicable in Cyprus.
