Georgina Athanasiou the new partner of Harris Kyriakides

Harris Kyriakides announces that on 1 January 2023, Georgina Athanasiou has been promoted to the position of Partner.

Georgina Athanasiou is the head of the Banking and Finance Department of Harris Kyriakides. She specialises in the financial sector and deals mainly with banking cases and other economic disputes, with domestic and international debt collection and enforcement measures. She has substantial litigation experience related to the issues, representing financial institutions and credit-acquiring companies before the Cyprus courts. Furthermore, she deals with foreclosure procedures as well as debt restructuring agreements and liquidation procedures. She also deals with criminal cases, European Arrest Warrants and extradition cases.

Georgina is a graduate of the Department of Law of the University of Cyprus and holds a Master's degree in Criminal Law & Human Rights from the same university. She is the President of the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization Oxygono, member of the Executive Committee of the Cyprus Forum, member of the Scientific Committee of the Prisoners Rights Protection Association and member of the Committee against Corruption of the Cyprus Bar Association. She also contributes to publications and articles related to the main areas of her work.
